2018 has been quite a year for meteorologists in the Greater Philadelphia region. The winter brought us some major snow storm events, and this summer has had a wet streak like we’ve never seen.
Well, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s called Early Fall.
As the summer humidity makes way for more temperate temperatures, we get into another golden time of the year for exterior painting. That’s why many companies tell you that early fall is the best time to paint your house – especially in Pennsylvania. It’s not that we don’t like working outside in the heat, it’s just that autumn offers some optimal painting conditions for our professional painters to get you the cleanest, smoothest coat possible.
Here’s why fall is our favorite time to painting home exteriors:
- Less humidity. We already mentioned this, but it’s worth mentioning again. High humidity does not always mix well, even with the highest quality products.
- Less extreme temperature swings. A nice Pennsylvania autumn day doesn’t typically have temperatures swinging between 40 degree range from night to day. This allows for better paint dry and ultimately a better finished product.
- It’s still warm – enough. We aren’t New England, so our fall lasts a bit longer and the temperatures are still warm enough to let your paint dry in just the right amount of time. That means even coats, and happy homeowners.
- Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Just kidding.
